Entertainment and creativity runs in Sydney’s blood. She owes her knack for entertaining and her outgoing personality to her parents, who were always the life of the party at family gatherings. It was only natural that Sydney got started performing in front of her family before moving to the stage, being the youngest to ever perform at the Hollywood Improv at the age of six. Early in her career, she shared her comedy with the world, appearing on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Chelsea Lately and The Tom Joyner Show. Sydney’s first official job was on That’s So Raven, where she caught the eyes of the producers when they saw her Hollywood Improv performance. For her television debut, Sydney played a foster child who became Raven’s “little sister.” She continued to guest star on hit television shows such as Entourage, The Sarah Silverman Program, and Hannah Montana. For her recurring role on the hit show CSI: NY, Sydney departed from her comfort zone in comedy to take on the standout role of ‘Ellie Danville,’ the adopted daughter of Sela Ward in the drama series.
Sydney, a Philadelphia native (of Korean and African American descent) is driven to not only act, but to study acting and hone her craft with the very foundation of theater. She looks up to Hollywood veterans such as Sheryl Lee Ralph, Jada Smith, Will Smith and Zoe Saldana for not only their talent but also their will to give back to the world. In her spare time, Sydney can be found reading, analyzing films, writing, and occasionally going back to her roots of stand up comedy. She holds a variety of charities near and dear to her heart including St. Jude, Project Sunshine, ASPCA, Children of the Night, and the African Millennium Foundation. Sydney hopes to one day see her career branch out into developing, directing and writing.
